Thoughts Since George Floyd's Murder

It is difficult to write about real estate, the sale of real estate, or any form of accomplishments in real estate when our country is hurting as deeply as it is now. Six days ago a man known as George Floyd was murdered by a racist police officer in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Protests have erupted in West Coast cities, East Coast Cities, and everywhere in between. I find the death of George Floyd to be sickening. I find the repeated story of an unarmed black man being murdered at the hands of a police officer to be sickening. I find the argument that “it is just a few bad apples” to be sickening. You’re tasked with protecting the safety and well being of those in your community. If that is too heavy a burden for you to carry, then don’t pick it up. Do something else with your life. You weren’t forced into law enforcement. No, you stepped forward and claimed you could do it. You took an oath of your own free will to do right, to be a beacon of light in the dark, to be the shield that defends our communities. The job is hard, but it isn’t complicated. Its rather simple. Don’t be a racist, piece of shit, pile of trash human being. And don’t allow your ranks to harbor any.

If you don’t believe that George Floyd was murdered, then I’m not the Realtor for you.

If you don’t believe that Black Lives Matter, then I’m not the Realtor for you.

If you don’t believe that there is a systemic problem that targets black people, then I’m not the Realtor for you.

Rest in Peace, George Floyd.
